Project MUSIVUS returns for a new cycle, already on the end of January, presenting, on an informal context,  a conversation between a composer and a performer. This  Cycle, like the first, counts with four sessions that will take place at Auditorium Maestro Frederico de Freitas, at the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores, in Av. Duque de Loulé, 31, Lisbon, on Tuesdays, twice a month.

The theme of these sessions focuses the work of an invited composer to be discussed and performed by an invited performer promoting a perspective dialogue between creation and interpretation of contemporary vanguard music.

As an activity promoted by the Portuguese Association of Composers (APC), project MUSIVUS proposes to divulge contemporary vanguard music, both in its compositional and interpretative component, focusing particularly on Portuguese music. In this sense, the project offers to a broad public the possibility to contact with the intimate reality both of the creation process of vanguard music and the multiplicity of processes involved in the interpretation of recently created works.

The first session of Cycle II will be held next 29th January, Tuesday, at 9h p.m. counting with the presence of Composer Luís Tinoco, who will be talking with the Percussionist André Dias, around the work “Mind the Gap” for solo marimba [2004] and with a special participation of Hugo Romano Guimarães who will do the surround live sound projection.

The next session, that will take place on the 12th February, will be with Composer  Virgílio Melo and violin player Beatriz Morais.
